Traffic Tools for Memorial Day Weekend

I wanted to share a bit of information with those of you planning to travel this Memorial Day weekend.  Today, the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority unveiled new online customer service features to make it easier for drivers to track traffic conditions on the MassPike.  This year motorists will be able to track traffic hotspots at I-84, I-495, Weston and Allston tolls via an improved interactive Google Maps Traffic Cameras web page and a real-time traffic Conditions web page, all accessible from www.masspike.com.

The interactive Google Maps Traffic Cameras page monitors real-time, live traffic conditions in Boston and now has been improved to include the addition of five cameras from Allston to I-84, including the Exit 9 hotspot in Sturbridge.  In addition, the Roads Conditions page will report up-to-date traffic conditions in these new locations.  Because existing equipment and infrastructure was used and the web site modifications were made by Turnpike staff, the online features unveiled today were developed at no additional cost to the Turnpike.

Please remember to drive safe and note that historically, the heaviest Memorial Day weekend traffic occurs Thursday, Friday and Monday afternoons and early evenings.  Hope these traffic tools come just in time for the weekend and don’t forget to have a great time once you reach your destination!
